Hamilton police are looking to identify two suspects involved in a theft from a senior’s residence.

On Wednesday, Sept. 14, at around 7:00 p.m., an elderly woman was tending to her garden when two unknown suspects parked their vehicle in front of her house. A woman suspect approached the homeowner and made inquiries regarding property for sale in the area. Police say she asked if she could use the washroom and then entered the house. The man left his vehicle and tried to enter the home, but he was blocked by the homeowner.

Police say after the homeowner realized the woman was still inside for an extended period of time, she entered and found the woman in her bedroom. The suspects were asked to leave and they complied. Shortly afterwards, the homeowner discovered her purse had been opened and several items were missing.

No one was physically injured during this incident and the suspects fled in a dark coloured vehicle.

The female suspect is descried as white, 20 years of age, 5’5″, medium build and dark hair.

The male suspect is described as white, around 30 years of age and a medium build.

Police say both suspects appeared to speak with unknown accents.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
