Hamilton police K9 unit finds cocaine, fentanyl and cash

First Published:

Hamilton police say a number of illicit drugs have been seized after officers responded to reports of a shooting on Hamilton Mountain.

Police received a call on Tuesday about possible shots fired in the area of Scenic Dr. and the Bruce Trail.

After arriving on scene, officers found a group of males in two vehicles in a nearby parking lot.

Police say two men immediately fled on foot into a wooded area. As police spoke with the others in the group, one of the men who ran away returned saying he was missing some money.

Members of the K9 unit searched the area and found cocaine, fentanyl and $1,100 in cash.

Police say there was no evidence of a shooting.

Investigators are still working to “identify the owner” of the seized items.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Hamilton police.
