Hamilton police investigate street robbery

Hamilton police are trying to gather more information regarding a street robbery that happened late Tuesday night.

Police were called to the area of Herkimer St. and MacNab St. South around 11 p.m. for reports of a robbery.

Through an investigation police determined an altercation happened between two men around 10 p.m.

The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and the victim went to hospital on his own with non-life threatening injuries. He has since been released.

Police searched the area and found an imitation firearm.

Detectives are working to obtain a suspect description and additional details about the interaction.
