Hamilton police investigate shooting in east end

First Published:

Hamilton police are investigating an early morning shooting in the city’s east end.

It happened shortly after 5 a.m. on Sunday in the area of Main St. East and Graham Ave. North.

When officers arrived on scene, they located evidence which confirmed a shooting had taken place but no victims or suspects were found.

Back in February, Hamilton police launched a new task force to combat gun violence and drug trafficking after a surge in shootings in the city.

Police say there have been more than triple the number of shootings in Hamilton this year than in the same time frame last year.

Police are still investigating the most recent incident and anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Mario Rizzo at 905-546-2920 or 905-546-2929.
