Hamilton police investigate fatal single-vehicle collision

First Published:

Hamilton police are hoping the results of a post mortem examination will provide more details about a fatal collision that happened early Sunday morning.

Officers were called to a single-vehicle collision on Woodhill Rd. in the area of Concession 4 Rd. West. around 3:30 a.m.

Police say a 2013 Hyundai Elantra was travelling southbound when it left the roadway, entered a ditch and crashed into a hydro pole.

The driver, a male from Lynden, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say “further identification details” have yet to be confirmed and the cause of the crash is still unknown.

“Detectives will be attending the post-mortem later today and an update will be provided afterward,” said Hamilton police.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact Det. Cst. Jaimi Bannon at 905-546-4753.
