Hamilton police arrest Mississauga teens in variety store robbery

Two teenage boys from Mississauga have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a variety store in Dundas.

Shortly after 12 a.m. Monday, a resident in the area of Cootes Dr. and York Rd. flagged down police to report a robbery that had just happened.

Officers learned a masked thief armed with a gun entered Mac’s Milk at 36 York Rd. and made demands for cash.

The store employee handed over a small amount of money and the thief fled the store.

A witness in a nearby parking lot told police the suspect was in a vehicle travelling northbound on York Rd.

Officers tracked down the car and two males attempted to flee on foot. They were quickly captured and arrested.

Hasham Mustafa, 19, and a 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, have been charged with robbery with a firearm. Mustafa is also facing one count of disguise with intent.
