Hamilton police have arrested four people and are looking to arrest one more after a man was forcibly held in an east end residence.
Police say on Monday, Aug. 15, shortly after 9:40 a.m. they received reports of a man appearing in distress with visible injuries running in the area of Oriole Crescent. The man was taken to hospital for treatment.
On Sunday, Aug. 14, at around 11:00 a.m., police say the man was contacted by an old acquaintance and the two made arrangements to meet up. The man was picked up from his residence, drove to a few locations and eventually returned to a residence in Hamilton’s east end.
The man says he remembers walking through the front door of the residence when he was struck in the back of the head by a foreign object. He woke up in a basement, tied to a chair, where he was assaulted by multiple people. He eventually got free, ran out of the residence and found help from bystanders.
Police say once they confirmed the address, they set up a perimeter at the residence and arrested four suspects:
48-year-old Tracy-Lynn Fleming of Hamilton, 22-year-old Devon Cornelius Frost of Hamilton, 21-year-old Hunter Gordon Edward Grant of Hamilton and 37-year-old Amanda Lee Ransom of Hamilton were all arrested and charged with multiple offences.
Police say they are still looking to arrest a 22-year-old, Aidan Bristol Eydt-Maher, for his involvement in the crime.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
