Hamilton man killed in overnight motorcycle crash

A Hamilton man has died after an overnight motorcycle crash in the city’s north end.

It happened on Industrial Dr. just west of Gage Ave. North around 11:40 p.m. Tuesday.

“A black 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle was travelling westbound on Industrial Drive at a high rate of speed when it exited the roadway and collided with a rock face located along the north side of the road,” said Hamilton police in a news release.

Police say the 25-year-old man was thrown from his motorcycle. He was found unconscious and lying on the ground by police and paramedics who were on their way to another call.

He was rushed to Hamilton General hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“Police have not ruled out any contributing factors to the collision,” said police.

A postmortem is scheduled for Wednesday morning.
