Hamilton launches Relay for Life

The Canadian Cancer Society

and Hamilton’s Juravinski Hospital

are helping to fight back against cancer with the launch of the city’s “Relay for Life”
.

Representatives from the Canadian Cancer Society, as well as cancer patients and survivors gathered at the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre in Hamilton for today’s launch of the relay. The run raises millions of dollars for cancer research across Canada each year.

This year, the Hamilton relay hopes to raise enough money to buy a robot that can prepare chemotherapy doses for patients at the Juravinski Hospital. Cancer survivor Tamara Lovegrove, speaking at today’s launch, says the event is much more than just raising money.
