Hamilton hospitals now allowing two visitors per day

First Published:

Hamilton’s hospitals are loosening visitor restrictions.

St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and Hamilton Health Sciences are now allowing inpatients to receive two visitors per day.

They can’t visit at the same time and must be on a patient’s visitor list.

Hospitals say there are limited exceptions to this and more visits or additional people could be allowed in certain circumstances.

Visitors will have to go through a screening process and will have to wear a mask and maintain physical distancing.

Visitors are still not allowed in:

  • Emergency Department
  • Psychiatric Emergency Service
  • Urgent Care Centre
  • Outpatient clinics
  • Day Surgery

The hospitals implemented a no-visitor policy in March but have been adjusting in line with provincial guidelines.
