Hamilton City Hall evacuated as police investigate threat

First Published:

Hamilton city hall was evacuated Friday after reports of a bomb threat.

Police were contacted around 11 a.m. after a threat was received via phone call.

The building, located at 71 Main St. West, was cleared while officers search the premises.

After several hours, police say they found no threat inside and cleared the building.

The investigation caused major traffic delays in the area as police taped off an entire downtown block surrounding city hall.

Police are still looking into where the threat came from.
