Hamilton begins COVID-19 vaccinations for those 85 and older

First Published:

Hamilton Public Health Services is setting up pop-up vaccination clinics across the city today.

According to the city, seniors aged 85 and older can call to be put on a registry for an appointment. Once on that list, the city will make contact to schedule an appointment.

Seniors who have been in hospital system in the last six months will automatically get a call to book an appointment.

There are five pop-up locations across the city doing vaccinations:

  • Saltfleet Community Centre
  • Glanbrook Arena
  • Ancaster Rotary Club/Morgan Firestone
  • Dundas Community Centre
  • Harry Howell Arena

Vaccinations have also begun at St. Joseph’s West 5th campus.

The city says there are 11,000 seniors who are eligible for the vaccine.

After lengthy delays and website crashes, the city says it has increased the number of hotline call representatives and extended daily hours to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday.

All vaccinations are by appointment only, walk-ins are not permitted.
