Hamilton avoids lockdown, remains under red level COVID-19 restrictions

The province is keeping Hamilton in the red “control” level of COVID-19 restrictions.

The city has been under red level of restriction as of Nov. 16. This after the province lowered the thresholds of the restrictions after criticism they were too high.

There was speculation earlier this week that the city would be moved into lockdown as of Monday.

Only three public health regions will be changing their restriction levels as of Monday, the government announced in a news release.

Middlesex-London and Thunder Bay will be moving into the orange “restrict” level. Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge will move into the yellow “protect” level.
