Thailand Soccer team trapped in cave

First Published:

Rescue efforts are still underway for the twelve boys and their soccer coach who have been trapped in a cave in Thailand for the last eleven days.

The boys and their soccer coach have been trapped in this cave for nearly two weeks and will spend even more time underground as Thai officials figure out how to retrieve them safely.

Part of the discussion is teaching the boys how to swim, and scuba dive.

Here in Hamilton, we have the Eramosa Karst, an underground formation that includes a cave that stretches 335 metres, longer than three football fields.

Cash Cobb and his group are going caving today, they’ve been following the story of the Thai soccer team.

The caves and tunnels at Eramosa Karst are nothing like the cave the thai soccer team is trapped in, but they can still pose a problem for people that are being too adventurous.

As for the team trapped in the cave, Navy Seals could attempt a rescue tomorrow if weather conditions remain favorable.
