Halton police charge two teenagers after intimate photo of victim shared online

Halton police have arrested and charged two teenagers after an intimate image of a victim was shared online.

Investigators said a victim sent an intimate picture in July 2021 to a male youth known to her. She did not give permission for the male to save the photo. The male then threatened to share it, unless more images were provided.

The picture was sent to another person who posted it online.

Police charged a 15-year-old male from Burlington with extortion, distribute intimate image and voyeurism.

Another 15-year-old from Caledonia has been charged with distribute intimate image.

Both accused were released on undertaking.
