Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after ten mailboxes were damaged by pumpkin smashers.

Police discovered several mailboxes were damaged after they were contacted by a homeowner in Norfolk County on Saturday.

Investigators say pumpkins were thrown from a moving vehicle in the early morning hours on Saturday striking several mailboxes.

“Police are looking to speak to anyone that may have information regarding these incidents. We need to hold these individual(s) accountable for their actions,” said Staff Sergeant John Fashing, in a news release. “Residents are tired of having their property vandalized or property stolen by individuals who think that this type of behaviour is acceptable.”

Anyone with information that could help police with the investigation is asked to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
