First Published:

Haldimand-Norfolk will be moving into the orange “restrict” level of COVID-19 restrictions as of Monday.

The change is effective 12:01 a.m. Monday. The region had previously been in the yellow “protect” level.

“Over the last week we have seen a shift in the trends of key public health indicators in regions across the province,” said Minister of Health Christine Elliott.

The Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit currently has 43 active cases of COVID-19. In total, 643 positive cases have been reported, 563 of those are resolved.

Orange restrictions limit the number of people permitted indoors in bars and restaurants at 50, with a limit of four people seated together.

Restaurants and bars also need to get contact information for all seated patrons.

It has the same limits for private functions and organized public events.

Niagara Region and Brant County are also under orange restrictions.

The province is also moving Windsor-Essex under the red “control” level restrictions as of Monday.

Hastings Prince Edward Public Health, Lambton Public Health and Northwestern Health Unit are moving from green to yellow.

All other public health regions are staying the same.
