Guns seized after man threatens to shoot neighbour: Hamilton police

First Published:

Hamilton police have seized six firearms after a man allegedly threatened to shoot his neighbour during an argument.

Officers were called to a home in the area of Limeridge Rd. East and Upper Ottawa St. around 6 p.m. Monday.

When police arrived on scene, they learned there was an ongoing dispute between a man and woman in neighbouring homes which had recently involved a “heated discussion.”

Police say the situation escalated when the woman’s husband confronted the man who then allegedly threatened to shoot the husband.

A 41-year-old man was arrested and charged with utter threats to cause death. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 19.

Police discovered the 41-year-old legally owned firearms and ammunition which were seized “until the court proceedings have been resolved.”

Investigators say a gun was not used during any of the alleged incidents.

Anyone with further information is asked to contact Hamilton police.
