Gun found in passenger’s waistband during traffic stop in Hamilton

First Published:

Two men face numerous charges after a handgun, drugs and money were found during a traffic stop.

On February 11, around noon, police stopped a grey BMW travelling west on Barton St. because the license plate was registered to a resident outside of Hamilton and the occupants did not match the owner’s age or description.

Police say the passenger ran but was caught a short distance away near King St E and Wellington St N. He made several attempts to reach towards his waistband where police found a loaded handgun, money and drugs.

A glock 23 handgun, ammunition, fentanyl, marijuana, cocaine, cell phones and cash were seized by police. The driver was also arrested
