GO Train service to Niagara sees influx of riders over long weekend

First Published:

Metrolinx is reporting high rider turnout for the return of weekend GO Train service to Niagara.

The transit agency says more than 1,200 rode the train to Niagara on Saturday of the long weekend.

It is still finalizing ridership numbers for the whole weekend but says there were so many riders, extra train cars had to be added.

Weekend train service to Niagara had been suspended because of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Metrolinx is reminding people that face masks are mandatory and must be worn at all times while on board.
