Dundurn Castle is a historic neoclassical mansion in Hamilton that has been around since 1835. Today Emily Vukovic got a look at some of the things you can do and see there.
Emily started at Battery Lodge, which is a little house built on an artillery battery built during the War of 1812. It was once used as a caretakers house, and is now Hamilton’s Military Museum. The museum is very interactive where you can touch and feel a bit of history.
Another great part of Dundurn Castle is the kitchen, where Emily learned how to make their standard Scottish shortbread. Then upstairs is the Drawing Room which is one of the fan favourites on tour.
There is so much history to learn at Dundurn Castle and is a great place to take kids for something to do before they head back to school.
