Get the secret behind the sourdough at Dear Grain

First Published:

Dear Grain in Hamilton is a bakery that specializes in sourdough.

They make sourdough because of its nourishment and the fact that the bread stays longer on the shelves and is easily digestible.

Steve Ruddick visited the bakery and learned how the bread is made from start to finish. One of the special things they do at Dear Grain is add porridges or purees into the dough, which gives it great flavour.

Dear Grain started over a year ago and is now open to the public. And if you don’t want bread, they also make sourdough pastries such as cookies, loaf cakes and biscotti.
