Gas prices in Hamilton, Halton, Niagara rise 10 cents Wednesday

First Published:

Drivers in southern Ontario may be taken back by the price of gas Wednesday morning.

Gas prices are expected to rise 10 cents Wednesday before another six-cent hike on Thursday to about 168.9.

According to industry analyst Dan McTeague, the average price in the Hamilton, Halton and Niagara regions will be 162.9 cents per litre Wednesday.

Industry experts say Wednesday’s hike is one of the largest single-day jumps in a decade.

However, gas prices are still well below the record highs seen in June, when they hit 215.9.
