Gamers vie for 30-million dollars in prize money

The super bowl of gaming is underway in Queen’s, New York.

The ‘Fortnite World Cup’ has attracted thousands of gamers from around the world to compete for an almost unbelievable 30-million dollars in prize money.

Fans and families are packing the Arthur Ashe Stadium to cheer on players watching giant TV monitors with commentators following the action.

Fortnite has been a worldwide runaway success. The game offers an arena-style survival concept where gamers are dropped onto an island to fight each other for survival.

Fortnite is just two years old and its publisher, Epic Games, is now valued at 15-billions dollars.
