Friday marks third anniversary of Toronto van attack

Friday is the third anniversary of a deadly van attack in Toronto.

Ten people were killed and 16 others injured when a 25-year-old man deliberately drove a rental van down the sidewalk of Yonge Street in Toronto’s north end.

Alek Minassian was found guilty of 10 counts of first-degree murder and 16 counts of attempted murder last month.

He had argued he should be held not criminally responsible for his actions due to his autism spectrum disorder.

The city will mark the tragic anniversary with commemorative remarks from Mayor John Tory.
