Freeland withdraws comment about Poilievre

First Published:

Canada’s deputy prime minister Chrystia Freeland was trending today – thanks to a fiery remark she directed at Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre in the House of Commons yesterday.

A comment about the opposition leader’s makeup came during a heated exchange about drug legalization in Canada.

Freeland did apologize and withdrew her comment right away, but it’s garnered thousands of reactions online.

Her comments come just a few weeks after Poilievre called the prime minister a “wacko.” All this unfolding as the Conservatives campaign for the House Speaker to resign again over concerns about partisanship.
