A Minnesota prosecutor has charged a former suburban Minneapolis police officer who fatally shot Daunte Wright.
Announcement of the charge came on Wednesday, a day after officer Kim Potter resigned from the Brooklyn Center Police Department.
The local police chief, who has said Potter intended to use her Taser on Wright but fired her handgun instead, also resigned.
Potter has been charged with second-degree manslaughter in the death of 20-year-old Daune, who was stopped for an expired car registration.
The shooting ignited days of unrest and protests.
