A Florida teen and her mother are facing a maximum 16-years in prison for allegedly rigging a homecoming queen election.

Prosecutors say Emily Rose Grover, who turned 18 last month, will be tried as an adult.

She and her 50-year-old mother, Laura Rose Carroll, who was an assistant principal at another school, face multiple felony charges stemming from the October homecoming vote at Tate High School in Pensacola.

Officials claim Carroll accessed the school district’s internal system to cast fraudulent votes for her daughter so that she would win.
