Flags lowered at Shaw Festival to honour Mary Haney

Flags have been lowered at the Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the -Lake after the death of actor Mary Haney.

The festival tweeted that the body of work she accomplished during her 30 years at Shaw is “unprecedented, and easily distinguishes her as one of the greatest Canadian actors of her generation”.

Haney was in 63 productions at the Shaw Festival, wrapping up with the 2016 season.

Her family says Haney was a proud Trivial Pursuit shareholder – founded and developed by two friends and her brothers.
