Five-year-old seriously hurt in Brampton house explosion

Peel Regional Police says three people, including a five-year-old child, were hurt in a house explosion in Brampton.

Emergency crews were called to the home on Herdwick St. near Humberwest Pkwy and Castlemore Rd. Tuesday afternoon.

Police say two people sustained minor injuries, while the child was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Officers evacuated homes on both sides of where the explosion took place.

The extent of structural damage and cause of the blast is still unknown.

Police are still investigating the incident.
