First positive case of COVID-19 associated with Mohawk College

First Published:

The City of Hamilton has confirmed the first positive case of COVID-19 associated with Mohawk College.

Hamilton public health say the case is at the Stoney Creek campus on Barton street. It’s unclear whether the case is staff or a student.

Mohawk President Ron McKerlie says everyone has been doing an excellent job following safety protocols, going on to say,

“We will not be immune from COVID-19 infections as numbers begin to climb across the province. We must continue to keep our guard up, following the protocols of the college and of placement partners”

The positive case is currently at home following protocols. Case and contact tracing is underway.
