First Nations delegates meet with Pope Francis hoping to get an official apology

VIEO: Pope Francis has not yet formally apologized or officially committed to visiting Canada, but First Nations leaders say their meeting with the Pope on Thursday left them hopeful. First Nations, Metis and Inuit delegates want an apology from the Pope on Canadian soil for the church’s involvement in residential schools. A meeting between First Nations delegates and Pope Francis went on for about two hours. The head of the Catholic Church met with Inuit and Metis delegates earlier this week too. Kelly Botelho has the details.
