It happened in a home on Crooks street between Barton street west and York boulevard. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and checked the home to ensure it didn’t extend to any other areas.

That’s when they noticed the fire had moved into the walls of the home. It is under control but crews remained on scene checking for hot spots.

The cause of the fire has not been determined and no damage figure has been assigned at this time.
