The Ontario Fire Marshal has been called to investigate a morning fire at an apartment building on the Hamilton Mountain.

Crews were called to the multiple-alarm fire at 21 Ben Lomond Pl., near Juravinski Hospital, around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

There was heavy fire coming from the balcony of a unit on the 15th floor.

It took less than an hour to extinguish the flames, but crews remained to clear smoke in the stairwells and upper floors.

A middle-aged woman was found conscious in the apartment and was treated by paramedics, fire official said.
