Festival of Friends announces lineup

The lineup’s been announced for Hamilton’s 2014 Festival of Friends.

Down with Webster will play the opening night (August 8th) of the free music festival at the Ancaster Fairgrounds.

Burlington’s Finger Eleven plays Saturday night. The last time they played the festival, they drew about 50,000 fans. Finger Eleven is on stage before 79 year old rock pioneer Ronnie Hawkins.

On Sunday, country music takes over the main stage with acts like Doc Walker and Pam Tillis.

I met Ronnie way back in 1960 in Port Dover at the Summer Gardens.
He had Levon Helms, Robbie Roberts, and they went on to become The Band.
He was great then, and still is

this is an awesome event for hamilton and best of all free which is nice because every dollar is counting more and more everyday…

Macdon10 says:

I agree that the festival was better at Gage Park.

Pansy says:

ya! Finger Eleven.

Debulah says:

The festival was originally began in Dundurn Park then moved to Gage Park. Yes the festival was far better being at Gage Park but apparently the homeowners in the area were getting fed up with the traffic and not being able to park on their own streets. There needs to be far more shady areas at the NEW Ancaster Fairgrounds. I doubt I will ever go to the Festival now that it is there.

Shan says:

Parking at Gage Park was a big problem. Went once and wouldn’t go back because of that, although I do agree that the park atmosphere was nicer. Everything is better with trees!
