TV’s The Incredible Hulk, Lou Ferrigno is now an honorary Hamilton Police constable.

A swearing-in ceremony was held this morning at police headquarters. The honour comes as Crime Stoppers of Hamilton moves forward in their Hero Initiative.

Ferrigno took notice of the Be A Hero campaign by Crime Stoppers earlier this year, and is using his own website to help fight bullying. He holds honorary deputy status in numerous parts of the states – and now, Hamilton is included in his list.

“I always say that the best thing is the fact that, in being true to yourself and also respect other people. Like myself, I was young, I’ve learned to combine the mind with the body because on top of the physical training like bodybuilding fitness and training, because that helps your self-esteem and discipline, to focus your positive energy in a positive way.”

“That’s one of the bonuses of weight training, you have to know it yourself that, be true to yourself and understand the situation. Not fighting the situation, not running away from the situation, go towards the situation and deal with it the best you can, because everyone has a fear factor.”

Phil Perkins is working on this story and will have all the details tonight on the Evening News at 6.
