Federal government rejects plan to let Blue Jays play in Toronto

The federal government has rejected a plan to let the Blue Jays play in Toronto during the pandemic, as health officials deemed it too risky.

Buffalo has emerged as the Blue Jays backup plan over Dunedin, Florida.

There is already staff laying the groundwork to play at Sahlen Field in Buffalo.

The team will have to scramble after the Canadian federal government denied approval to play home games at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
