Fatal motorcycle crash on QEW near Appleby Line

Update: OPP have identified the 23-year-old driver of the motorcycle as Philip Slonina from Mississauga. Police say witnesses reported the motorcycle was lane splitting traffic prior to colliding with a pick-up truck.

All westbound lanes of the QEW are closed at Appleby Line after a motorcycle collision.

OPP say a motorcycle, 2 cars and a pick-up truck were all involved in the collision that happened just after 6 p.m.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to hospital without vital signs. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
