While he’s known more for his work directing films like Pan’s Labyrinth and Pacific Rim, Guillermo del Toro is also an author. In 2009 the Mexican filmmaker published the first book in his vampire horror trilogy titled The Strain, a series he then went on to adapt into a television series to air on FX. The show follows a group of scientific and paranormal investigators as they battle an ancient enemy. Two of the show’s cast members, Natalie Brown and Jim Watson (both of whom hail from Northern Ontario) sat down with us to talk about the show’s first season and what’s in store for season two.

The Strain: Season One is now available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
