Ex-mayor considered to fill Morelli’s council spot

First Published:

Hamilton’s longest-serving mayor could be back at city hall.

There’s word that former mayor Bob Morrow may be appointed to replace the ward 3 seat left vacant because of the death of councillor Bernie Morelli.

Morrow served 18 years as Hamilton mayor from 1982 to 2000.

Provincial legislation requires council to declare Morelli’s office vacant no later than February 12th. After that, council has 60 days to appoint a replacement or call a byelection.
