Electric Diner opening second location at the iconic Lister Block

First Published:

Electric Diner will be opening a second location at the Lister Block in downtown Hamilton.

Owner, Erika Puckering says they have been eyeing the iconic heritage site for a couple of years now, “it just really reminded us of a diner downtown in New York,” Puckering said.

With the demand growing at the Electric Diner on George Street, Puckering says the Lister Block was the perfect spot for their second location.

The eye-catching heritage site was restored in 2011 but it hasn’t had much luck with restaurants keeping their doors open.

Electric Diner will now be the third restaurant to open in the building since 2013 after 28 Lister Chophouse Grill closed in 2014. Wendell Clark’s Classic Grill and Bar closed in 2019.

Puckering says the new location will be similar to the first, “it’ll be a little bit more elevated, a bit more refined, a little less on the eighties cartoon front and a little bit more like a cocktails and dreams type of eighties vibe.”

The Electric Diner on the Lister Block is expected to open its’ doors this fall.
