89-year-old man dead after being pulled from Burlington pool

An 89-year-old man has died after being pulled from a swimming pool at a Burlington apartment building.

Emergency crews were called to 5220 Lakeshore Rd. around 6 a.m. Monday.

Halton police say a resident called 911 after they spotted the senior floating inside the pool from their unit on an upper floor.

Paramedics performed CPR but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. It’s not clear if he suffered a medical emergency.

Police believe he likely went swimming early Monday morning.

The area remains closed as police investigate the incident. The Coroner’s office has also been called in to investigate.
