Earth day clean up at Hamilton beach

Since plastic was invented, more than 6 billion tonnes of plastic waste has been generated world wide, and roughly 80% of it ends up in landfills, or the environment. Which is why a local pro-recycling group organized a beach clean-up at Van Wagner’s for Earth Day.

A massive crowd of people came by Monday afternoon and filled garbage bags up with all kinds of plastic that was on the beach.

Adam Atkinson joined in the beach clean up and has the story.
