A second COVID-19 vaccine is proving to be very effective based on early clinic trials.
Moderna says its vaccine is 94.5 per cent effective in preventing the virus.
Of the 15,000 participants who received the vaccine, only five contracted COVID-19 and none became seriously ill.
The company plans to get FDA authorization after getting more data later this month.
The news comes a week after Pfizer announced its vaccine is more than 90 per cent effective based on early data.
Moderna’s president says having similar results from two different companies should give us all hope that a vaccine may stop the pandemic and help get everyone back to their lives.
