Dry skin in the winter? Try these 5 moisturizing products

First Published:

Between the cold weather and constant handwashing, extremely dry skin is a common problem for most people.

Beauty expert Shira Ben joined Annette Hamm on Morning Live to share five personal care products that can help moisturize your skin.

Live Clean Coconut Milk Moisturizing Body Wash

If you’re looking for a natural and hydrating body wash to use this season, Ben recommended the Coconut Milk Moisturizing Body Wash by Live Clean.

“When we use body washes or soaps that contain a lot of sulfates and chemicals, we’re stripping the natural oils from our skin,” she said.

This product is enriched with vitamins B, C and E to promote softness. It is also 98 per cent plant-based, made in Canada, vegan, never tested on animals and free of parabens and sulfates.

La Roche Posay Baume

If you have sensitive skin, this cream created by La Roche can quicken skin recovery.

“It is my go-to moisturizer throughout the day to relieve that itch,” Ben said.

This product is safe to use on babies, children and adults. It also has a non-oily and non-sticky finish.

Flexitol Very Dry Skin Cream

When it comes to a night cream, Ben recommended the Very Dry Skin Cream by Flexitol.

It is best for dry and itchy skin such as winter itch, ichthyosis, xerosis, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis or other dermatological conditions.

Glysomed Hand Cream

Ben said our hands show the first signs of aging, which is why it is important to give them some extra TLC with the Glysomed Hand Cream.

“Personally, I’m constantly washing dishes and cooking so I keep one in my purse, by my laptop and by the sink so I remember to moisturize my hands.”

This product contains glycerine to maintain and restore the skins’ moisture balance, and chamomile to calm and soothe irritated skin.

Boscia Prebiotic and Probiotic Freshening All-over Body Deodorant

Conventional deodorants contain harsh ingredients that can contribute to hormonal imbalances, irritated skin and poor health.

That’s why Ben recommended this natural deodorant by Boscia.

It’s aluminum-free, talc-free, alcohol-free and baking soda-free.
