Two drivers have been handed a seven-day licence suspension after racing through Burlington.

Halton Regional Police say an officer clocked two drivers travelling twice the speed limit at 6 p.m. Thursday.

“Last time we checked, Fairview Street wasn’t a drag strip,” said police in a tweet.

Police say the drivers were racing each other at 124 km/hour in a 60 km/hour zone.

The two were charged with racing, stunt driving and speeding.

The vehicles were impounded for a week.
