A male driver was rushed to a trauma centre unresponsive after a vehicle struck a medical building in St. Catharines on Thursday afternoon.
Niagara EMS spokesman Bryce Brunarski says paramedics were called shortly after 1:30 p.m. to Vine St. South near Welland Ave. for reports of a collision.
Brunarski says a vehicle hit a pole before crashing into a medical building and causing extensive damage.

St. Catharines Fire Services extricated the male patient from the vehicle.
While he only suffered minor facial injuries, Brunarski says the driver was taken to an out-of-town hospital unresponsive.
He says Ornge air ambulance declined to attend the scene due to foggy weather conditions.
Niagara police closed the area of Vine St. South near Welland Ave. for an investigation.
