People who are exposed to diesel fuel exhaust are at risk of getting cancer.
That’s the conclusion of two new studies conducted by a cancer group that’s part of the World Health Organization.
For more than two decades, diesel engine exhaust has been classified only as a probable cancer-causing agent.
But now the WHO says these studies show there’s a direct link between exposure to diesel fuel exhaust and the disease.
The findings could pressure governments to put stricter limits on emissions and require greater protection for workers who are exposed.
