A group of Hikers had to be rescued from the Decew gorge in St. Catharines Wednesday night.

Five people were hiking at around 10 pm when they say it was too dark to see and they became trapped.

By the time Niagara police and fire arrived on the scene – two hikers were able to rescue themselves, but the other three needed help.

The high angle team pulled them out of the gorge safely.

The hikers suffered only minor scrapes from the sharp rocks.
