Deb Nanson, a well-known community activist has lost her battle with cancer

First Published:

A member of our community lost her battle with cancer this week. Best known for her unwavering compassion and support for those in need, people across Hamilton and Niagara say Deb Nanson can never be replaced, but is fondly remembered.

Deb organized task forces, food banks, community events and most recently was the director for love at the gate, working closely with Pastor Mark Royall at Gate Alliance church in Niagara Falls.
He says the calls have been pouring in, “she has a legacy that goes to so many places, to so many people to so many different ages, it’s overwhelming.”

A celebration of life will be held Saturday at Westview church in St. Catharines.
